Things begin to get serious. The Chardonnay establish their roots vines and begin to grow up the trellising. The field for the Pinot Noir vines (we are one year behind due to time pressures) is prepared and then ploughed. Robert and I decide, having undertaken the installation of the Chardonnay field ourselves and having the blisters to show for it, to hand the job over to the professionals —Fruits of Labour — who manage to complete the task within two days… and take down the telephone wires with their post basher!
